Providing safe, reliable electric service requires employees to work around high-voltage equipment, operate specialized vehicles and machinery, and respond to outages in all types of weather conditions. That's why safety remains at the center of every task, every decision, and every job.
Throughout the year, Petit Jean Electric employees complete hours of safety training and professional development, hands-on learning opportunities, and ongoing discussions designed to reinforce best practices and keep safety at the forefront of everything they do. From bucket truck training and equipment operation to emergency response procedures and emerging technologies, employees continually sharpen their skills and knowledge. From field crews and engineers to member service representatives and office staff, every employee plays a role in maintaining a strong culture of safety and looking out for one another.
As technology continues to evolve, so do the tools available to help improve safety and reliability. Investments in system improvements, training, and technologies such as advanced monitoring systems help employees respond more effectively while continuing to provide dependable service to members.
Safety extends beyond the workplace as well. Whether it's practicing electrical safety at home, slowing down and
moving over for utility crews working roadside, or being aware of overhead power lines while working outdoors, everyone has a role to play in creating safer communities.
