Behind every outage restored, every phone call answered, and every new service connected is a group of people who care deeply about the communities they serve.
When we asked our employees, "What does Petit Jean mean to you?" 
the answers were different, but they all shared one common theme: people.
For some, Petit Jean means family. Many of our employees have spent years, even decades, serving members and working alongside coworkers who have become lifelong friends. They understand that being part of a cooperative is about more than providing electricity. It's about being there for your neighbors.
That commitment extends beyond our members. Our employees also serve and support one another. Whether it's stepping in to lend a hand during storm restoration, celebrating life's milestones, or helping a coworker through a difficult time, teamwork is part of who we are. We believe that when we take care of each other, we're better able to take care of our members.
For others, Petit Jean means purpose. Every day, our crews, member service representatives, engineers, dispatchers, and office staff work together with one goal in mind: providing safe, reliable, and affordable electricity to the members who own this cooperative.
It also means community.
Unlike an investor-owned utility, Petit Jean Electric is owned by the members we serve. Our employees live in these same towns, shop at the same stores, attend the same churches, and cheer for the same local schools. When storms roll through, or families need help, we're not serving strangers; we're serving our neighbors.
That local connection is what makes the cooperative difference.
Our employees take pride in helping members, solving problems, and finding ways to improve every day. Whether it's restoring power after a storm, answering questions about your bill, or helping a new member get connected, every role matters because every member matters.
