Youth Tour delegates visit Washington, D.C.

Emily Payne of Bee Branch and Brittany Shannon of Clinton were among 42 high school students who toured Washington, D.C., in June as part of the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour to Washington.

 

As part of the tour, Payne and Shannon, along with the rest of the Arkansas group, flew to Washington on June 10 and returned to Little Rock on June 15. The trip, sponsored by Petit Jean Electric Cooperative and the state’s 16 other electric distribution co-ops, included tours of major sites in Washington such as the U.S. Capitol, the museums of the Smithsonian Institution, Mount Vernon, and the Jefferson, Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., Vietnam, Korean and World War II memorials, among other sites.
