Co-op sponsored students tour nation’s capital
Marissa Lamb and Briana Yount, both of Bee Branch, were among 43 Arkansas high school students who toured Washington, D.C., in June as part of the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour to Washington.
Marissa and Briana, and the rest of the Arkansas group, flew to Washington on June 15 and returned to Little Rock on June 20. The trip, sponsored by Petit Jean Electric Cooperative and the state’s 16 other electric distribution co-ops, included tours of major sites in Washington such as the U.S. Capitol, the museums of the Smithsonian Institution, Mount Vernon, and the Jefferson, Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., Vietnam, Korean and World War II memorials, among other sites.
