Big news from Petit Jean Electric Cooperative!

Big news from Petit Jean Electric Cooperative!

We are excited to announce our building plans for the first phase of our Fiber-to-the-home network!

Please be assured that our Petit Jean Fiber and Petit Jean Electric Cooperative teams are working tirelessly to complete the necessary construction and configuration required to deliver these services as quickly as we can. Sometimes weather or other factors may impact our plans, but we will continue to communicate with our membership about any changes to the schedule.

This schedule is intended to provide an outline for the next several months based on the most current assessment of our project. Below are the substations for phase one and include associated neighborhoods with each zone.

Scotland: Mainline construction is expected to begin in January 2022 and be completed by the end of April 2022.

Cleveland: Mainline construction is expected to begin in April 2022 and be completed by the end of May 2022.

Bee Branch: Mainline construction is expected to begin in May 2022 and be completed by the end of August 2022.

Quitman: Mainline construction is expected to begin in July 2022 and be completed by the end of October 2022.

Damascus: Mainline construction is expected to begin in October 2022 and be completed by the end of November 2022.

Clinton Industrial: Mainline construction is expected to begin in November 2022 and be completed by the end of December 2022.

The process of building a fiber-to-the-home network is complex, and all areas to be served go through several phases of design and construction. To learn more about the fiber construction process, visit https://www.pjecc.com/fiber-faq to read the Broadband FAQs. As each substation begins make-ready construction and fiber installation, you can expect to see crews from Conexon, MDR, Ervin Cable and TechServ on your land and in your area working on the project.

How can you let us know you’re interested in our blazing-fast broadband services?

The best way to stay in the know is to preregister for fiber at www.PetitJeanFiber.com to be notified by email of construction updates and when service will be available in your area. Preregistering is not a commitment to subscribe to our service; it just keeps you up to date on what is coming next. Even if your community is not in the first phase of the project, we encourage you to sign up and let us know you are interested.

From all of us at Petit Jean Fiber and Petit Jean Electric, thank you for your enthusiasm and your patience as our broadband project unfolds. We are excited to take this step in improving communications and reliability across our electric system and for the opportunities high-speed fiber internet will provide for members. Follow us on social media for more information and feel free to reach out with questions anytime.
